How can we commit young people to act as peacemakers and thus contribute to reducing gun violence in the Bijlmer? Young people in the H-neighborhood in Amsterdam Southeast are concerned about the use of weapons among young people. These young people long for peace and a decrease in gun violence. The figures do not lie: within one year there were 18 shooting incidents and 4 deaths in the Bijlmer (also listen to this fragment on Radio 1 )
We believe that when we connect these young people, they can encourage others to stop gun violence. We already have the help of churches and organizations in this. Will you help us further with the solution of how we can connect these young people (stimulate? enthuse?) to commit themselves as peacemakers and thus break the gun violence among young people in the Bijlmer?
The first step in this project was to create a song against violence. Drill rapper from the K-neighborhood Issy and Rolo, a musician from our church made a song together (very unique) :

Step 2 of the project is a training for Peacemakers, where young people learn debate, non-violent communication and Mind your Wallet skills.
